Long story, but I'd like to swap panels if possible.

One machine, Acer 8104 - kickass laptop, display sort of sucks.

Other machine, Compaq Presario R3000 - crappy laptop, kickass display.

Both support up to 1680x1050.

I would suspect witht he way you can configure laptops these days that
the panels are somewhat standard.

Anyone ever look into doing this sort of thing? Also, any way to get
part numbers on the LCD panels without opening cases and looking?
