my question: is it possible to swap the front panel of driver
from my sony to new driver
because the shapes are a bit different
whether the span of pins is the same, is any standard of pins
distances?
someone told me that may be problem with swap.

No, it's not possible. It's never possible on drives made by different
manufacturers (sony/samsung). Sometimes it's not even possible on
different drive models made by the same manufacturer.

This is one of the biggest problems in attempting to upgrade a laptop's
optical drive. I've been there, and it's a pain in the butt.

it *is* possible. just not always. the faceplate will will probably
clip on, but there's no standard for where the buttons line up which
means it often doesn't work. chances improved if you stay with the
same drive manufacturer though.

I've never seen two face plates from drives made by different
manufacturers that were interchangeable. But I have seen face plates in
two different drives made by the same firm that were NOT interchangeable.

"Never" may have been strong, but if it's not absolutely correct, it's
still almost absolutely correct.

[I'm not allowing for "custom" mounting that might involve cutting,
glue, etc. I'm assuming that "proper" mounting and fit are a requirement.]
