I now have a satelite tv connection instead of cable hooked to my tuner card.
I had to connect to the svideo connection because the satelite signal is HD.
When I go into "setup tv connection" it allows me to choose "satelite" and
then type connection is "svideo" and the picture shows up that it is bringing
in the signal from the svideo connection, but when I finish and go to "tv" it
still goes to the old cable "screw in" connection. How do I make media center
only go to svideo connection and not the cable connection? Am I missing
something here?
HELP!!!

Do you have an MCE IR receiver and remote and is the IR blaster plugged into
the receiver?

no I have a ir receiver but it is only plugged into the computer. Media
center did check for that but said it could not find it, so I skipped that
hardware check. What do I need to hook that ir up or do I really need that?
Can I bypass that and just have my satelite connection come in on channel 3
or something?

MCE will not recognize a STB as being used unless you have a MCE IR remote
AND its IR "blaster" connected to its receiver since with this setup MCE
will change the channels on your STB for you if you are using channel 3 or
S-Video from the STB since you place the IR "blaster" in front of the IR
sensor on the STB.

You can possibly tell MCE that you have an antenna and then use channel 3
from the STB and control the STB yourself although you will find that
