most tv card have a s-video input. I use them to connect the digicorder, this
is digital tv and better then analoog. In the software of the hardware
suppliers hauppauge, pinnacle you can switsch from analoog tv to s-video but
these program are not good. The problem is how can I switch in media center
to the s-video channel. The satelite channel I see the s-video channel but by
installation media center ask for infrared receiver from the satelite topbox
and don't go further.

You must have the MCE IR kit (remote/receiver/emitter) to use a cable/sat
box; otherwise MCE would have no method to control your box to change
channels. You cannot run through the setup without the IR stuff plugged into
the PC.

BTW, S-video, while better than other video inputs (like composite), is not
digital, it is still an analog signal. It just breaks the signal into
separate signals to increase the quality.

You have the IR receiver plugged into the PC?

If so, try using a different USB port, it should give the usual message
about "New Hardware found, installing, etc.."
