I have the same issue and have tried Detect and Repair to no avail.
It's definitely got something to do with Outlook because when I remove any
of the email/PIM selections from the ActiveSync options, it goes right
through with no errors.

Hi,
The only other suggestion I have is to uninstall ActiveSync, uninstall
Outlook, reboot reinstall Outlook and then reinstall ActiveSync.

uninstall/reinstall on my desktop? will I lose all the contact
information that I have on my desk top? I am having similar problems. I
don't actually use outlook, but I typed in all my contacts (faster than
the hunt and peck with the ipaq) and it just won't transfer.... all I
want is my contact info moved from my laptop to my ipaq.
