Solaris 2.8 with ssh v3.1.8p1 -----> sshd 3.7p1 on AIX 5.2

The sshd instance on the AIX side of the connection is core dumping
immediately after successful user authentication in buffer_get_string()
called from mm_get_kex().

Near as I can tell, the client is supposed to start a key exchange at this
point and the server is reading invalid data.

Any ideas?

Has the Solaris really got v3.8.1p1 ?

Does truss on the server side reveal anything useful ?

Does that sshd 3.7p1 work for other clients ?

Where did the sshd come from; local compilation or what ?

Re: sshd 3.7p1 coreing

The sshd was locally compiled on the AIX machine.
Yes - the sshd works for other clients.  The only way we can
produce this behavior is with the given connection, but it's consistently

The solaris version was also locally compiled.

Weird, huh?

Thanks, Elvis!
