I am using plink.exe utility to ssh to a cvs repository
(cvs.sourceforge.net). But it is giving the error "Unable to open
connection: gethostbyname :unknown error". Can anyone tell why is it
Because of that, i am unable to use TortoiseCVS.
I am behind a corporate firewall and i think that is the cause for the
error. If that is so, is there any way that i can overcome this?
Re: ssh using plink.exe giving "Unable to open connection: gethostbyname :unknown error"
is it possible to ping to the machine you want to connect to? (And can
DNS resolve the hostname?)
If your firewall blocks ssh connections, I think there is indeed a problem.
If it lets ssh connections pass and it is just a DNS problem then find
out the real IP address and use the IP for your plink connection.
