On Solaris 9, how do I limit remote root logins to SSH (PuTTY) logins
ONLY ! (i.e. no telnet, no rsh, no rexec, no remote anything)

Do you mean while telnet, rsh, rexec etc remain available to non-root users ?

I suspect the answer from most people will be to disable services and teach
your users to do SSH.

And/or look at /etc/default/login .
