SCP from AIX to OpenVMS

I am running OpenVMS 7.3-2 and TCPIP 5.4 and enabled SSH.  We have an AIX
system that needs to send files over and they want to use scp.  We have
public key authentication working as the scripting (from SAP on an AIX 5.2
system) does not pass password.  They get connected, but the files never
comes over.  I noticed that the VMS console messages make it process the
command file (because for ftp jobs I have it send a console message).  The
logfile in the users directory is this:

$ Set NoOn
user job terminated at 27-OCT-2004 11:13:19.20
Accounting information:
Buffered I/O count: 74 Peak working set size: 3984
Direct I/O count: 31 Peak virtual size: 173888
Page faults: 343 Mounted volumes: 0
Charged CPU time: 0 00:00:00.04 Elapsed time: 0 00:00:00.17

So the RCMD in the log file makes it look like SSH is not detecting that the
remote system is doing a SCP.

Here is the console messages:

%%%%%%%%%%%  OPCOM  27-OCT-2004 11:12:43.61  %%%%%%%%%%%
Message from user INTERnet on
INTERnet ACP SSH Accept Request from Host: 152.3.yyy.nnn Port: 51491

%%%%%%%%%%%  OPCOM  27-OCT-2004 11:12:46.70  %%%%%%%%%%%
Message from user
_FTA77:, User xxx login executing...

Going from OpenVMS to OpenVMS the SCP command works fine.

Any ideas?

Re: SCP from AIX to OpenVMS

There were lots of bugs / restrictions on early version of SSH for
OpenVMS.  Contact HP and make certain you have all of the pathces.

I have not tested scp or sftp with OpenVMS because both only provide
"binary" file copy support.  Sending a "variable length, carriage return
carriage control" file to either Unix or WinDoze will just give you a
headache.  There are workarounds.
