I have Real VNC on my network at home and have been suggested that Putty
would be be a good program to use in order that I can access a particular
computer on my network.  How do i go about doing this?

My Laptops IP address is automatically set by my ADSL Router as are the
other computers on the network.  Is this going to be a problem?  I am pretty
good with computers but this is just getting out of my league so nice simply
instructions would be nice.

Thanks in advance

I've done something similar for my computer at work, and are trying to
do the same at home.  However, can you be more specific as to what you
want to do.  I may e able to help.

Re: Real VNC with Putty

ssh -L 5900:<>:5900 -f -N

then just run vnc viewer and point it at localhost as the computer you
want to connect to.

The setup is a bit more complicated in windows if you don't have a linux
host on your lan side so please tell us more about your setup.
