I did try both zlib 1.1.4 and 1.2.1 - no difference.
But ... this error is happened with the test box only, which is AIX
4.3.3 ML10. There is no such error on the development box where
OpenSSH has been compiled (it's 4.3.3 ML11) - I've tried this with
"sshd" running on port 2022 in debug mode.
I have no clue what the problem is, looks like it's somewhere in
system libraries (libc??) or so. If you have any idea please let me

In general, you should be compiling on the oldest system you plan to
support (include MLs).
Sounds like it, but I don't know anything specific.
Try running it with "UsePrivilegeSeparation no".
