I use TOR/Privoxy/FireFox and I want to add a SSH server via. PuTTY.
I think I have things setup correctly but I can't find *any* "how-to"
for TORifying PuTTY.
Please read over my setup as I have posted it below and tell me if I
missed something or set somthing incorrectly (ex. Socks4 not Socks5)
1. FireFox: set to "127.0.0.1:8118"
2. Privoxy: set to "forward-socks4a / 127.0.0.1:9050 ."
3. TOR: setup default
C.Connection > Proxy:
C. SSH > Tunnels:
If I am correct this will make my internet connection (HTTP, HTTPS,
FTP,etc.) follow this route:
FireFox > Privoxy > TOR > PuTTY(SSH Server) > Net
I am concerned about my systems enviromental info being leaked by
PuTTY. I hope that by putting Privoxy before PuTTY, Privoxy will
filter the enviro. info.
If I am correct by putting Tor before PuTTY my web connection will be
anonymous before it reaches my SSH server.
I thought that maybe I should use FreeCap to Socksify PuTTY through
Tor. Tor needs Socks4a to be used so the DNS lookup won't show my real
IP; I believe.
But if I set PuTTY "Do DNS lookup at proxy end" to "Yes" I believe that
will make PuTTY route through the Tor ExitNode so the DNS lookup won't
show my IP.
BTW, I was thinking of "chaining" 2 or 3 SSH Servers together...what do
Thank you for the help and your time
