OpenSSH: SIGCHLD on Solaris 8

I'm upgrading a bunch of Solaris 8 machines to OpenSSH 3.7.1p2.
Works fine on all machines except one: on that one sshd receives
SIGCHLD and closes connection right after succesful authentication.
Anyone run into this before?

Certain Solaris PAM patch levels seem to have this problem.  Installing
111659-07 is reported to fix this for some.  See:

Hmmm. According to showrev -p 111659-07 is installed... and all
machines are on the same patchlevel. Oh well, I guess I'll try
to truss the damn thing when I get a round tuit, see if it is
that tty race...
