I'm using the debian testing openssh:
OpenSSH_3.8p1 Debian 1:3.8p1-3, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17
At work, all ssh connections work like a charm, almost instantaneously,
at home ssh (via DSL) works, but every connect stalls for about 35-40
seconds at this line (just before contacting the host):
debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0
All ssh-related stalls I have found on Google so far were mostly related
to DNS lookups, but since this effect happens for every ssh connect,
even to the same host, I don't beieve it's DNS related - but I may be
wrong here. "host any.domain.tld" is usually answered within a second or so.
Anyone who might be able to point me into the correct direction?
Thanks a lot

But it still was DNS related, somehow my DSL Router did not cache the
results properly plus the local DNS resolving part was partly awkward.
Well sorry for my post (I really should not post when I am dead tired),
but after setting up a local caching name server everything runs smoothly.
