OpenSSH and sftp2 -

Do you have a question? Post it now! No Registration Necessary.  Now with pictures!

Threaded View
I am trying to communicate between a server
and my OpenSSH 3.6.1 client. My sftp connects with a session
but any attempt to do a put or get fails with a message
saying it could nopt obtain a handle. Someonr called
my attention to some documentation saying that
between and OpenSSH sftp2 should be used. The key
I generated used ssh2. How do you use sftp2 under OpenSSH?

No such critter. created an entirely distinct set of binaries for
the new protocols when they published them, binaries that you had to compile
andn install separately and in fact had to compile and install the ssh1
binaries first, then compile and install the ssh2 binaries. The system was
fairly insane.

The OpenSSH authors created a single set of binaries that spoke both
protocols, and configuration files to enable or disable one or the other
