I created keys for user abc in order to:
/home/abc $ ssh remote_host date
Thu Dec 8 16:32:14 EST 2005
works without the need for a password.
When I log on as root I would expect:
/ # ssh -l abc remote_host date
to work as well but the result is:
No RSA host key is known for "remote_host" and you have requested
Host key verification failed.
Do I need to install additional keys or is it a matter of configuration
Thanks for all help.

Re: lost the key

and it will add the hostkey, or get the hostkey yourself by other, trusted
means if you want to be more careful.
