I've never seen it before. I was sound asleep at the time.
I was not logged in from any terminal and had no screen sessions
I don't have any timeouts set.
Are there dark forces operating?
Or is there a mundane explanation?

It's possible that it was a session from a disconnected/crashed client
that was eventually killed when the TCP connection was timed out.
Maybe. What do the previous messages with that pid say?
