System: win xp; no cygwin but mingw; use openssh for win32 (with
lightweight cygwin) version 3.8.1p1-1. The system is basically
standalone connected to internet via dsl through a router.
newbie to openssh. try to set up a sshd on this machine. but the
mkgroup -d returns above message. mkgroup -l is fine.
What does this message mean? How can I further do?
Re: Help: "mkgroup -d" returns error
I have used Cygwin's sshd only, but
"mkgroup -d" tries to contact your Domain Controller (DC)
for the list of the user groups available.
"mkgroup -l" searches defined groups (Administrators, Users etc)
from your local machine. Since your system is connected to internet
use "mkgroup -l" only. Remember to edit manually the group numbers
of the users in your /etc/passwd (if /etc/passwd exists)
according to created /etc/group -file (created by "mkgroup -l")
