I've got a new Sony Vaio TX series notebook and am pleased with it apart
from 1 slight problem
The screen magnify function ( Fn+F10) when pressed takes about 30 secs to
activate the magnify screen.
My local Sony dealer says that's normal but when I check another machine in
the shop , it works instantly. Anyone got any ideas or exp with this
Otherwise the machine rocks !!!

I don't have one of them but you might want to look at both machines and see
if they are set for the same screen resolution.

I suspect something like 1600/1024 might take longer than say 640/480 would
due to the increased memory and processor requirements.

I have also a Sony laptop having a screen resolution of 1920x1200 but
If I press the in built magnify button it only takes around 5
seconds....for it to work..

Anybody want to get up a class action suit against nvidia, matrox, and ati?
Their hardware supports zooming and it's instantaneous or close to it, but
all three have removed support for that feature from their drivers.
