i found some bugs with the button assignment feature of WMP on the Motorola
Q. i'm not sure if MSFT is aware of all those.
to assign buttons with WMP, goto the main WMP menu and select options ->
buttons.
the bugs i found are:
- assigning button "0" displays "Unknown"
- assigning button "SHIFT" displays "tild-a"
- assigning button "ALT" displays "Unknown"
- WMP incorrectly lets you assign the button located under the roller (on
the side), but in fact this button is equivalent to the BACK button,
therefore it is captured by the system and not apssed to the application, so
it cannot be mapped to any WMP function.
- when you press and hold a key when defining an assignment, e.g.
press-and-hold 'G', the assigned key will be indicated as 'Hold-G', but in
fact the function will be assigned on simply pressing G if 'G' (with no
hold) is *not* assigned to another command. If 'G' (with no hold) is
assigned to another command, then the assigned function to 'G' (resp.
'Hold-G') will be executed when 'G' (resp. 'Hold-G') is pressed. i
understand the rational but it's a bit confusing.
