remote controlling my Windows Mobile phone from desktop

Threaded View
I know a person can download the PowerToys for Windows mobile and that the
PowerToys include a remote control for the Windows Mobile device, but to my
knowledge it only works using ActiveSync through a USB port.

Is there a way to modify this tool to work through a WiFi connection on my
network.  It is dificult to support someone if they always have to tether
their Windows Mobile phone to their PC.

Is it legal to distribute this solution to my users as a support tool?

The folks at www.soti.net have some good products for controlling devices in
the field.

Re: remote controlling my Windows Mobile phone from desktop

Hi,

The remote desktop tool looks a little outdated now.
There is a better tool called MyMobiler http://mymobiler.com/ .

Also all these tools that work using ActiveSync through USB will also work
through Bluetooth.
That is nearer to WiFi solution, isn't it ? But if you really need WiFi
support for the remote desktop tool
you can find its source codes in the Windows CE 5.0
Platform Builder at WINCE500\PUBLIC\COMMON\OAK\DRIVERS\CERDISP and modify
them.

Re: remote controlling my Windows Mobile phone from desktop

I thought that cerdisp did work over tcp/ip, on the device before you
tap connect, change it from ppp_peer to the ip address of the machine
that is running the host software, then click connect.

It's been a while since I've used it though, so I may be remembering
incorrectly,
