AFAIK, forcing a new path via that registry key simply doesn't work. (I've
tried it before myself!) Activesync forces you to sync only with C:\My
Documents\(Name of Device )Documents. Some third-party software apps
allowed you to select any briefcase folder you like, but I believe they
bypassed the Activesync logicwith their own (although using the Activesync
file transfer conduit to do the actual transfers, so you still needed
Activesync installed.)
IIRC, there's a similar reg key on the device that also doesn't work. I
tried to use it to set the device's sync folder to the storage card to free
up RAM, but it had the same effect as the desktop key- nothing synched.
