 question for anyone that can help...
i am just setting up media center. my internet and cable tv service is from
charter cable. Can I "split" the cable that provides the high speed internet
and plug the extra end into the cable tv spot on the computer so i can watch
TV thru xp media center?

 I don't know about Charter, but with Comcast, yes you can split the coax
with one end into the cable modem and the other as a basic cable connection
to the Media Center. The only thing is that the split must be made at the
very beginning of the cable coming into the building. By this I mean that
you can't make a two way split, and use that split to make another split
into cable tv and cable internet. The split to your cable modem must be out
of the first split. I would guess that Charter is somewhat similar.

hi charter does not advise you to split your cable before going to your modem
if you need help call them they came out and ran another line for mine so
your modem gets the best signal thanks hope it helps
