Where is your DSL modem? Inside the house, right? If so, then you should
have a firewall/router at the same location, connected to the DSL modem.
From the firewall/router you can then run the CAT 5 to your different rooms.
Or, get a wireless firewall/router and bypass CAT 5 altogether.
