server 2000 Group policy for windows xp clients

Hi friends , i have 60 windows 2000 workstation , 2 windows 2000 server we
are upgrading all the computer to windows XP Professional , we want to used
G.Policy and OU , to restrict some destop icons and games.

do i have to installed anything special software on windown 2000 server so
the GP will work on windows xp machines , i know i will work fine on windows
2000 professional

They will work just fine as is, but you would be limited to using
policies that also work with Windows 2000 unless you get the
GPOs updated. To do that, you only need to use a Windows
XP Pro workstation to open the GPOs for editing.
You may want to install the adminpak on a XP SP2 Pro making
sure to do so after at SP2, and also to download and install
GPMC (Group Policy Management Console) on your XP Pro
administrative workstation.
Once the GPOs are updated, keep an awareness of the notes
in the explain text on policy settings that indicate to what versions
of Windows they each are applicable (some will not have an
affect on your Windows 2000 but will not hurt Windows 2000)

Well, I am not really sure of just what extent you already use this,
so www.microsoft.com/gp is the main nexus to much, much info.

Also, I forgot to mention that there is a hotfix you will want to install
on your remaining W2k from which you will edit GPOs.
