Individuals should be aware of rogue security software, where users
receive a link telling the person they have some kind of infection on
This is called malware (malicious software) and it asks you to buy
anti-viral software using a credit card.
Criminals then have a person's card details and then use the machine
to send spam to other people. A collection of compromised computers is
called a botnet.

Please don't spam the newsgroup by splattering your choice for
anti-virus software. Configure the NNTP proxy in Avast to NOT add its
spam promotional signature. It makes you look stupid in believing that
anyone is going to trust some text in your post as qualifying that it is
