alexapower.com in action and it is really fast and easy to get into
the top 10,000. So, doesn't Alexa respond to this nonsense? To me,
the entire data pool at Alexa is polluted. Not that it was clean
before, but now it is just plain silly. One of my top web sites was
around 35,000 and the past two months, despite massive growth, we've
slipped back to 45,000. I tried to experiment with alexa power with
one site that is just an unused domain and that site has soared into
the top 10,000...somedays it is in the top 2,000. I'm not going to
even think about trying this with my real sites because who knows what
Alexa will do in response. If they ever do respond.
One would think that Alexa would respond, but this has been going on
for a month polluting Alexa data very rapidly.
Re: What is Alexa doing?
The webmaster of this site would have to be pretty stupid to do something that
would bring itself to the attention of Alexa so they would be forced to sort it
out. So the low ranking sort of makes sense. Still, I agree that it's a scam.
Alexa rankings are near enough worthless.
