We don't ship to outside the United States. We PPC-market the site,, through AdWords and Overture. I think that, in
AdWords, we can restrict impressions to results generated in the U.S. (North
America?), but I don't understand how we can track clicks from foreign

I would be willing to cut IP addresses from the raw log files and compare
them to a database, but that kind of programmatic access appears to be much
more restricted these days. BTW -- we currently use ClickTracks for log-file

Am I missing something obvious? Suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Tracking international clicks -- HOW?

Some country information is included in the web log.  However you have
two problems.

1. Because of cable modems and dsl firewalls, and shared IP addresses,
there are a lot of visits that appear as "unknown" in the log under

2. You will need a more powerful log analyzer like webtrends to sort
referrals by country. They offer a free fully working trial version
but it it is expensive.

Google will probably give you the option to block countries
eventually.  This has been the direction with other click-based
advertising services.
