I decided to examine the web directories which require reciprocal links
to determine how that was working for them. PR5    2,240 PR5    431 PR6    170 PR8    2,280 PR6    2,890 PR4    229 PR5    148

The results of this search do not strongly support the theory that a large
number of reciprocal links will build a good Page Rank.

Of the sites tested, only one ( had a PR of above 6.

Heck, I got a PR6 once from a DMOZ listing.  ;-)

You should take a look at the results too, instead of just reading the

using the above site ( I went to google and entered:

So google comes back with:
Results 1 - 57 of about 2,090 linking to /

Now actually look at the list...

there are links coming from:

and thats it... 3 websites with multiple links to their site show up.
(though some have the WWW. infront of the url and some don't)

And then finally at the bottom google says:
"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some
entries very similar to the 57 already displayed"

I checked a few of the links to their page as well... they're all PR0 pages.

So its more of a testimony that even with 2000 PR0 links all they could
muster was a PR of 5
