A site I work with gets about 10,000 hits, and uses about 4 gigs of
bandwidth every month.

Today I found out that we went way over our bandwidth allotment on the last
day of January (yesterday).

I couldn't figure out how we could have done that.  Nothing unusual is
going on.  The site is non-commercial.

So, I looked at the log reports, and saw that egspd432.teoma.com had run up
103,682 hits, and used over 11 gigs of bandwidth in 11 visits.

We are indexed by every search engine I've ever heard of, and I have
noticed a spike when ones like google or yahoo will crawl the site.  But,
I've never seen anything like that before.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

When a bad bot hits your site looking for emails to harvest etc, it will often
call itself after something you wouldn't want to ban. It's unlikely to be Teoma
unless their bots have gone crazy.
