Not too long ago, my web site was showing within the first page of a
google search for keywords instrument swap
(The link is http://www.instrumentswap.co.uk ).
These days, it fell much further down the rankings and I don't know
why. If anything, the funcionality of my site is a lot quicker and
user friendly...Any suggestions?
Re: Search engine positioning
How old is the site?
Google isn't too fussed about functionality - so long as the links work -
but it is fussed about content. And there's virtually nothing there for
Google to relate to searches.
If it ever did well, it's because it was new (new sites sites often do
really well at first, then settle to where they should be !), or you've
removed the content that was allowing searchers to find you.
If someone searched for [violin guitar swap], what hope would they have?
Even the terms YOU searhced for do not appear on the page.
Google is not telepathic; you have to meet them half way. Mentioning search
terms is an absolute minimum.
"She plays the tuba.
It is the only instrument capable
of imitating a distress call."
