I was so impressed with http://www.proogle.com as a tool, does anyone know
if Pralexa will happen ?
Also I was midly surprised that for a given search term some PR5 sites were
listed ahead of PR6 sites, I had assumed that Google uses the PR of sites to
decide what order to give results... Is that just part of it ?

I think given the search term there is a relevancy factor per site and then
the PR is "added" to it. So if you get two sites with the same relevancy
factor but one has a higher PR then that site with the higher PR will be
listed before the other. However, in your case I suspect the PR5 site had
more relevancy to the search than the other and the PR factor was not greate
enough to swing it.
Yep. PR is only one of many factors that dictate where a site shows up in
the SERPS. The amount of emphasis placed on PR changes as Google modifies
its algo. There are plenty of PR6's below my site (PR5) for most of my main
