New file name?

Hi Everyone,

I just did a few pages of technical books at .

I want to change the URL to something simpler like
_______books-human-factors.html .

The page is new and Google has it at PR=0 but it is indexed (actually #1 for
human factors books).

Can I just change it or do I have to do a redirect of some sort? I never did
that before so if I need it can you point me to one?

Thanks a lot,

You need a redirect in your .htaccess file - if that sounds horrendously
technical it is actually really simple and you'll get guidance here if you
need it. Sorry if I've just insulted your technical expertise :)

It's just a line like:
redirect 301 old.html

If you feel that any of the above is incorrect,
inappropriate or offensive in any way,
please ignore it and accept my apologies.

Thanks Peter. That is just what I was looking for. The limitation of my
knowledge is unlimited.

When you do a 301, can I assume that you don't loose any position or PR in
the process?

The Google-preferred method is to use a 301 Redirect:

Yahoo doesn't see it that way, but what can you do?
