However now I want to change my URL structure, without losing rank or
Example URLs, both go to same contnt:
Old style - http://www.mysite.com/dir1/index.asp?id=100
New style - http://www.mysite.com/downloads/audio/100 /
I would use all the new style throughout my site, BUT the old URL
would still work too. I wouldn't be using the Old URL anywhere on my
site anymore, but the old URL would still work.
So, both URLs would go to the same page/content, but I'd only be using
the new URL on the site.
Do you feel this would be against search engine "policies", to have
multiple URLs go to same content? Even if I don't display the OLD URL
on the site anymore?

What rankings? This thing has rankings?
Redirects? Your example is already a redirect.
Either get rid of the old shit or contribute to the mountains of
obsolete web fluff.
In your example, I wouldn't waste my time thinking that it could be of
benefit saving the obsolete stuff, especially if it has little to do
with a potential Internet visitor and everything to do with the search
