have noticed a lot of sites scoring high in engines like google that
are essentially link directory sites with little content of their own,
mostly written in PHP.
They score high in the search engines because there are keywords in
the folders and directory structure as well as the links themselves,
which Google loves. (As of this writing today at least)
Check out this search to see what I mean:
This site egojob.com dominates a few keyword phrases, not highly
competitive ones, but enough to give the site http://www.egojob.com /
16,000 links indexed in Google. I have noticed this site scores high
in a couple other keyword phrases as well.
If you look at the site it is obviously just a keyword driven link
directory but it got me interested. Maybe the portal model isn't dead
I searched around in hotscripts.com and a few other places and the
best I have been able to come up with is
http://www.terrafirmascripts.com/ that have an interesting script
similar to what I think was used to make this site, but I can't find
any feedback at all on them.
Does anyone have any comments on this? I found it very interesting.
