text links for $X per month. Now I know there are a lot of other factors
to consider, but how much will one PR6 site affect a new site, or say a
PR2 site. Will one link really help in the search engines, or will you
need to buy links from multiple PR5-6 sites in order to see a difference
in pagerank (again, assuming your site itself is optimized and loaded

Depends a lot on the number of links from the PR6 page and how high a
PR6 it is. If the page has more than 50 links from it your page won't
make PR5 (might not make PR4).
A PR4 home page won't get you very far, PR5 might.
Generally speaking you are better off with links from many sources
that add up to at least a PR5 home page, seems to work better than one
link, probably because you get a lot more anchor text. Seems the
anchor text from a 100 pages that adds to PRX is worth more than 1
link that adds to PRX.
BTW if it's a new site expect the PR not to help for a long time (6+
