Google Conversion Tracker (Problem?)

How can I implement Google's Conversion Tracking feature when I'm using a
3rd party credit card processor and can't edit their web page?

I sell software via my web page, offering a time-limited trial version, and
accepting charge-card payments. I advertise using Adwords, and would like to
use the recently offered "Conversion Tracker" feature so I could measure the
effectiveness of different Adwords campaigns/keywords.

Implementing conversion tracking requires placing some java code on a page
at the end of the order process (the "Thank You for Your Order" page). A
problem arises because my credit card processing is done by a 3rd party. The
"order now" button on my webpage links to their order system, and they don't
allow me to edit their webpages (reasonable, in a way). Putting the java
code on my own "order now" page doesn't really work because some/many people
who visit the actual order-entry service don't go all the way and complete
the transaction.

My credit-card processor says they say they will give consideration to
enabling support for this feature, but there's no guarantee nor schedule.

I've asked Google about this and their support people just came back with a
form-letter "you must be able to edit the end-order page in order to
implement conversion tracking.".

Has anyone found a way to implement conversion tracking in such a scenario?

Re: Google Conversion Tracker (Problem?)

We use WorldPay as a payment processor and I have just implemented
this, works fine we use a callback script to a page on our site and I
just feed the code snippet out. I think they also let you customise
payment pages, so you could probably put the code in them.

I dont mean to plug WorldPay - just pointing out that many payment
processors will give you ways to edit your payment / confirmation /
result / thank you pages. Pherhaps you should ask your processor again
(or switch).

Hope this helps
