We have set up pages and links to books on Amazon in order to help pay
for the site.

Does Google rank these book pages?  Do they penalize you for links to

For example, we have read some of the books we offer, and we give our
comments and reviews on the books.  Thus our book pages are different
than Amazon's.  Will Google look at our page, see the Amazon link, and

Again we try to make our book pages more informative than Amazon's

simply give more infor on these books to our visitors.  And remember
we have other pages on similar subjects where we offer info, comments,
our experiences, etc.

I just don't want us to be penalized by having these links.

Absolutely not.

Yes, I have. My site on author John D MacDonald was at one time no. 1
in 9 search engines. My Isaac Asimov site was no. 1 in Google UK from
128,000 others. My Philip K Dick site was no 1 for 98,000. Just go
ahead, treat your sites as you would any other.
