Duplicate Sites

Okay, so we had a .co.uk site. We then launched a .co.za site, which
was a duplicate of the .co.uk site.

Like this we were listed on google.co.za - now we made changes to the
.co.za site so that it is not such a duplicate and we have vanished
from google.co.za.

Do you think we've been penalized or do you think we'll show up again?

What usually happens is one site just gets ignored - the other is not
usually penalised just becuase of this.

You would however be better just to have one site and merge the contents. If
you want the other url(s) just set up redirects to them - that is the best
way of doing things.

I have 2 sites with similar domain names.  One is .co.uk and the other is

The subject content is similar but the sites aren't duplicated

The .co.uk site gets a number 1 listing on Google for some highly
competitive search queries

The .com site is totally ignored by Google

I definitely wouldn't advise putting 2 or more sites up with identical
