After studying yur page I must say that I am impressed. I can't help
wondering if it´s meerely due to PLENTY of content. You don´t seem to
have many backlinks from external "PR above 4 sites".
Is it so, that the most important factor is neverending content and a
little optimisation to achieve good PR ?

Yes, for non-commercial sites the Google/Dmoz combination works as intended.
For instance there are only two sites in the world about the book called
"Dødedantz" and since the other site links to me, I have no problem
appearing on the first (and only) page in the SERP.
You just can't beat the combination of high PR and boring subjects ;-)
