I log in as administrator.
It seems the only way I've been able to get my bat files in scheduled tasks
to run reguraly is to check the box "On resume, display Welcome screen" in
screen saver and let windows log me out.
If I log out normaly as administrator I will sometime get the 0x4 in the
task scheduler.

Hello Ricky,

Has the account you use for the scheduled task, the "Logon as a batch job"
right?

Best regards

Well I'm not sure.

I am listed in the Logon as a batch job setting . It must be something else.
I was just wondering if this was secure let windows log me out.

Ricky, Let me try to restate/clarify your issue, ok? . . .

By "let Windows log me out" are you meaning let the screen
saver kick in, so that you need to resume the session via a
login at the welcome screen ?
"Logout" or "Logoff" usually means to completely tear down
the session. For example, if you start some application and
the screen saver kicks in, when you resume the application is
still there running, but, if you logoff then the application is not
there when you log back in as it was ended during the logoff.

So, with the correct combination you have been able to get the
.bat files scheduled, and have them execute successfully.

When you define these tasks you are just saying that they should
be run by what account ?

> If I log out normaly as administrator I will sometime get the 0x4 in the

So by this I am taking you as saying that when you look in the
Scheduled Tasks interface you are seeing it report a completion
code of 0x4 for the last time it was run/attempted, and that you
can tell that the task did not run successfully.

What do these tasks do?
Basically, if the above guesses are right, your tasks are
working as long as your account is logged in interactively,
and failing when not.

Roger
