Hope someone can help me. I've tried to record tv shows using the guide. It
records but it only records what "station" the live tv is on. For example,
lets say I'm watching channel 400. When I finish, I program the media
center to record later on, a show on 204. If the live tv remains on 400,
then it will record 400 (and it will give all the details about the show on
204 such as title etc as if it recorded correctly). If the live tv is on
204, then it records 204 correctly, Can someone help?

Are you sure the IR emitter is placed in the correct location on the cable
box?

Does the channel change manually when watching TV through Media Center?

The IR emitter, which is the little "bug" connected to the IR receiver,
should be stuck to the front of the cable box over the sensor window.
Sometime the window is hard to see and shining a flashlight will help reveal
where it is. Some have also reported that placing the bug slightly to one
side works better than directly on top of the sensor.

And if you follow the installation prompts correctly you will get to
test the channel change to make sure it works.
