Is there a way to over-ride the "shut lid, hybernates" feature?
I have an aircard, constant internet connection, I would like to have
security cameras hooked to laptop (HP pavilion DV1000) and when I go
to work, I would like to shut the laptop and put it under something (I
got robbed bad and I live in the sticks, don't want anyone to grab and
run while alarm is blairing).
Thanks!
Ramey

Be aware: that in some laptop designs the internal parts generate sufficient
heat to damage the LCD display (which will be folded down over said parts).

I'll remember that...considering my fan has been broken for about 4
months, doesn't freeze up too often though.
I am amazed how hard it is to find a replacement fan for it! Every
computer shop around here says "oh, a laptop, you must take that to
Seattle"! Doesn't almost everyone have a laptop now?
Hmmmm
