FYI after a lot more searching and a certain amount of trial and error I
have now visually identified this as the toshiba 1.8" disk -the same one
used in an ipod. I would assume all the TR series use the same drive.
The back is completely covered with an unremovable black sticker obscuring
the manufacturer and part number - I guess sony wouldn't want anyone taking
the back off their vaio to see that it had a toshiba hard disk.
