i have a HP IPAQ which initially was synchronizing ok with outlook for
contacts and calendar until i began getting the 85010014 error. after
looking at the knowledge base article i upraged to active synch 4.5 on the
desktop PC. Now it will not synchronize at all without forcing me to delete
the data on the device first and have it replaced by the outlook data. I
cannot afford to loose the data on the ipaq until it has updated the outlook
side. this is not an option for me

what i cant undestand is why upgrading the client software (active synch)
forces me to create a new partnership on the SAME pc and in doing so will
erase the device before being able synchronize the changes...

is there any way of re establishing the existing parnership with the new
active synch 4.5..

i hope this is clear i would appreciate any comments/suggestions

Hi,
Microsoft in it's infinite wisdom decided to delete all existing
partnerships as part of the ActiveSync 4.5 upgrade process. So you will
have to setup your partnership again.
