ok you begin a new partership. you sync (ver 3.8). At first contacts
syncs all items. then you select which categories to select. for
example category A and B. syncs successfully. Then you uncheck category
B, expecting that only category A contacts remain in the device. But
No! category B items are still in the device. it's stupid! what's
happening here?

Hi,
Did you disconnect and then try reconnecting. The idea of category sync is
that the category that you want stays on the device. All other categories
are stored on the device until the next sync and then copied to the desktop
and removed from the device. Just to be clear, if you have 2 partnerships
the categories that you choose not to sync will be copied only to the first
PC you sync with.

yes i did disconnect the device.

i understand that the category stays in the device. that's not the
problem. it's the items whose category i unchecked in activesync
options. my understanding is that if contact John Smith is under
Business category and you uncheck business category, then John Smith
would no longer be synched.
