valid rss feeds?

I'm trying to write a PHP script that will make a valid RSS feed for
my weblog. You can see what the script is currently outputting:

This doesn't validate at this validator:

It says I need to add a content type. Would it work if I changed the
first line of the RSS feed to this:

<?xml version="1.0" contentType="application/xml; charset=UTF-8"?>

What hapenned when you tried that?
Mail sent to my "From:" address is publicly readable at /

bypass the spam filter. I will answer all pertinent mails from a valid address.

I think it is the server that has to set the content-type header to XML.
