Whew, yeah, 3000 bytes to UPS and 3000 bytes back. That really makes
the network sweat. You really don't have a clue, do you?
I've implemented this for two clients. You create XML, open a socket
connection and send it. The reply comes back synchronously, also in
XML (not soap). There is little, if any lag and the documentation is
decent. They DO have php sample code at the UPS site but it's no good
so I would use one of the tutorials pointed to Scott's link.
Fedex is whole other sorry story.
