The ISP that hosts a few of my sites switched on safe_mode, now my calls to
Pear (require_once('DB.php');) are not working. I get:
Warning: main(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is
1603 is not allowed to access /usr/local/lib/php/DB.php owned by uid 0
Is there any work around at my end? Permissions perhps?
Thanks in advance
Re: safe_mode problem
Pear is installed by your ISP as the root user, and safe mode says that
the owner of the executing script has to have the same userid as that of
the executing script (which the PEAR files obviously don't).
solutions? Is there a way to install PEAR by yourself in your own
directories, or do you not have shell access on the server?
