Remote Windows Login

My system runs on a LAN. I have been trying to find a way of
identifying the windows username of each remote user of the system and
allocate the value to a variable. I have tried functions like
"get_current_user()", "getmyuid" and "php_uname(n)", but all have been
unsuccessful. The "php_uname(n)" was  closest but only provided me
with the Windows Username of the server. It is the remote user's
Windows Username that I want. Is what I am trying to do possible or is
it just not logical. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If you have Windows domain (NTLM) authentication turned on, you can just
  do GetEnv("LOGON_USER"); to get the authenticated user name. No
authentication prompt appears.

:echo ('user: '.getenv("REMOTE_USER"));

That will usually just return "Default User" or "Administrator"
